Knowing CPR Can Save a Life

Learn the basics of CPR and choking emergencies, become knowledgeable in 9-1-1 systems and know how to recognize choking emergencies, heart attacks, strokes and sudden cardiac arrests and how to manage these situations.

All Pulse CPR certifications for CPR Courses are valid for 3 years (unless required sooner for employment). All public courses offered by Pulse CPR complete Level C CPR (Adults, Children, Infants).

Course Topics

This course focuses on lifesaving skills on adults (8 years of age and older)

 

The course covers:

§  How to respond to emergencies

§  How to deal with Emergency Medical System (911)

§  Heart attack & stroke prevention, recognition and treatment

§  How to deal with someone who is choking

§  How to perform CPR for cardiac arrest

§  AED (Defibrillation) certification

Canadian Red Cross First Aid Manual

Certification Card – issued immediately upon successful completion of course

Pulse CPR keepsake

If CPR Level HCP (Health Care Provider) is required, please notify Pulse CPR at time of registration. Please allow one extra hour at the end of the course, and add an additional $10.00 for course fee.

§  Jaw thrust

§  Pulse check

§  Bag-valve-mask

§  Rescue breathing

§  Two-rescuer CPR/AED for adult, child

§  Two-rescuer CPR for infant

Please note: Health Care Provider (HCP) CPR is also available for doctors, nurses, paramedics, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, respiratory therapists (applicable to students in these categories). If obtaining CPR (Level HCP) add 1 hour and $10 to the course.
